How to pay for Spotify

Premium, eligible payment methods and account-country requirements.

Updated

Before paying

Check that the service is available to your account and accepts your chosen card. Universal and Universal+ differ in fees and issuing country; the merchant may apply its own restrictions.

Check the card balance allowing for fees, conversion and verification charges. Use Card Details for the number, expiry and CVV, and SafePay Billing for the holder name and address. Keep the service profile information accurate.

If Spotify says the country and payment method do not match

Spotify may require the account’s actual country and an eligible payment method to match its billing rules. Check the country shown in Spotify’s own account settings, the type of plan and the payment methods offered for that country. If you genuinely moved, follow Spotify’s official country-change process; a card issued in Hong Kong or Singapore does not automatically change your residency or account country. A VPN cannot change the issuer and should not be used to misrepresent your location.

Complete checkout

  1. Sign in to Spotify and open spotify.com/premium. Choose a plan available to your account.
  2. Review the offered payment methods, price and trial terms. Your account country and information must meet Spotify’s rules.
  3. If card payment is offered, enter SafePay card and billing details, confirm and check Premium in the account.

After confirmation

Available payment methods depend on account country. For a genuine move, change country following Spotify’s rules and consider local payment-method requirements. A partner-billed subscription may need to be managed through that partner.

If a 3D Secure request appears, complete the confirmation shown in SafePay, then return to the merchant. Do not pay again while the result is pending. For an error, keep its text, time and amount.
